Is it okay to give earrings with birthstones that are not of the person’s actual “birth-stone”?

And Kam asked:

I am planning on giving my partner a beautiful set of earrings with pink sapphires from Tiffany's. Her birthday is in July, which is Ruby, so is it okay to go with the pink sapphs?

- she likes studs so this is a good match
- i'm pretty sure she doesn't actually care for birthstones, horoscopes, etc.
- this is a Christmas gift

How much would it cost to get a ruby ring reset?

Sophie asked:

I have a ring with a 3x5mm ruby set in 14k yellow gold. I don't like the style of the band, and I don't wear yellow gold. I'm thinking about getting it reset into a white gold band, and maybe adding two tiny diamonds from a pair of earrings that I don't wear very often. I think it would make a much nicer ring, but what would the price range for this be?

Ears peirced and A bump on my earlobe?

Okay so I got my ear's pierced about three months ago at clairs.
I waited six weeks to take my clair's studs out and got some new earrings that was made of white gold and rubies. Anyways when I took my old studs out I noticed a bump on my right ear lobe next to the piercing. And it hurt when I put my new earrings in. It has been a month since then it still hurts when I put different earrings in and I still have that bump thing, it goes away after awhile but I can still feel it. Do you know what's up??
