Okay so i'm thinking about getting my ears pierced for Christmas, but I got an infection when I was 7 and had to take them out. I was wondering if I can wear like regular earrings from places like Forever21 and Claire's for example after my ears are healed from wearing gold/silver earrings?
Thanks guys for all the answers...they were all good and i'm pretty sure i will try again with gold and then try it out after it heals.

they aren’t the best quality but your ears won’t get infected so you should wear them if you want!
I can only wear gold or silver. can’t wear anything else cuz my ears are too sensitive.
yes but its very possible you will get an infection- it has happened to me., it doesnt matter that you wore real silver or gold before, what matters is that they are crappy earings and can be bad for your ears depending on how they react to the material they are made out of
i wouldn’t.. unless it’s real body jewelry, which is made out of surgical stainless steel.
well idk i only wear gold and when i tried wearing something from nordstrom, i like couldnt wear it because i have sensitive skin
Yes of course, but because they got infected before it could mean your allergic to certain types of earrings. At Claire’s i know that a lot of their earrings are sensitive solution or something like that but it just means that its better for your ears so i would try to buy those. I dont know about Forever 21 though

it should but it might be your ears, my ears over heal and i get bumps on my ears and they have become infected. Claires earings should work go for it
it all depends on how allergic you are to non gold or silver. I got my ears pierced since i was a babe, but i can usualy only wear gold or silver. i still shop at claires cuz they have killer hoops for cheap, and my ears can usualy handle them for a week…but then i gotta take em out cuz itll get sore or itchy. I would say buy pair and see how you react to them, u never know how well ur ears my take it

You may be allergic to them what were you wearing when you got the infection? I would aleast try to wear whatever you want .If they start to
itch or swell or anything like that take them out and clean earings and ears really well.
If your ears got infected once before it may mean you have a sensitivity. You were young so maybe the cause was something else.
Get your ears pierced again with real gold. After they are healed, experiment with different earrings. Pay attention to any sensitivity or redness.
Luckily regular earrings from those places do not cost much. Just take it easy and pay attention to any potential problems.

when i got my ears pierced at Claire’s, it didn’t hurt at all, but it did feel like a bee sting. I didn’t cry at all. I believe that Claire’s has the best selection of earrings.
Girls, I have some hefty advice you might need.
I had my ears peirced in september 20th 12:01 sharp. I never had an ear infection in my life. the best hing to do is DO NOT touch or fiddle with them!! leave them in for 7 weeks. I know people say 6 but 7 gives you a positive earring outcome. TRUST ME I did!!
