I'm in my mid 20's and going back to school soon. I've always liked the way small simple earrings look on girls and guys. I've toyed with the idea of getting my ear(s) pierced but haven't gotten the nerve to do it yet.
I think this is something I should maybe try while I still have the chance (I picture it being much less of in issue in school than in the professional world after).
I'm not sure if I want just my left ear or both ears. I have medium brown hair, hazel eyes, and wear silver framed glasses. I've thought about something like a small white gold ball, a tiny white gold hoop, or a subtle diamond in white gold. Maybe something a little more creative like a birthstone? I'm considering finally getting it done as a celebration of being a student again.
What would you suggest?

Well, I’ve always though two earrings on guys is too much. If you’re going to get it done, subtle is best. I would go with a small hoop or stud on one ear.

I would just get one ear done and wear a stud in it.
I think much more on a dude looks tacky.

It would be safe to do just the left ear…I didn’t have my ear pierced until I was 40…haven’t had a problem with my professional career since…both ears are pushing it in the professional world…but a simple stud in one ear seems to be acceptable in many places…

I got my left ear pierced in 1986. It was a pain to take care of and probably has closed up by now. I say it is too much of a bother.
I dont think they look good on guys. A little too feminine for me.

I have had my ears pierced for over 10 years now. I am currently in my mid 20′s. I have never had a problem with earrings, as my family owns a jewelry business, so I see men with earrings all the time…I don’t even notice mine anymore.
I have a small white gold hoop in each ear. If your going to go with any earring in each ear, I would stick with small hoops. If your going with one, I would suggest a small round or princess cut Diamond, or if you want to be creative, we have sold earrings with Alexandrite, which is a very rare color changing stone…very unique.

Go for both ears. Get some small studs at first, either white gold balls or small diamond studs. Once your ears are healed, you can try other looks. Small silver hoops are cool too. You can change them out depending on your mood or the social setting. Give it a shot! You only live once. If you’re feeling like you want to give it a try, now is the time… while you’re still in school.
I’m with Sam…if you’re going to do it, get both ears pierced.
I started out with a small diamond stud & switched it out to a small silver hoop in each ear.
It took me a long time to get up the nerve, but once I did it, I never looked back. You’re right, dude….going back to school is the perfect time to get an earring (or two) . Go for it & enjoy!!!!!!
