I'm thinking about getting my girlfriend pearls for valentine's day. preferably a set: necklace, earrings, bracelet. but i haven't made up my mind yet. i think she likes pearls, but i asked her about a month ago and she somehow knew i was considering getting her some for v-day so she just said she didn't want me to spend too much money on her. she's a farm girl, and she doesn't have much jewelry. what she has is what i bought for her, and she wears it all the time. she doesn't dress up much, just for Sunday church and stuff, but i'd like her to have several jewelry options when she does. also, i heard pearl is june's birthstone, and she was born in june. i'm also planning on getting her some chocolates, roses, and a stuffed animal because that is all she asked for.
My only concern about pearls is that i heard some girls talking somehow, i don't remember if it was real life or a tv show, and they said pearls are for old people. is this true or do young women like pearls too?

I think pearls are pretty, but if you buy a pearl necklace make sure you buy a loose, chunky style instead of the tight short ones. I think those are more granny-ish

actually pearls can look really cute depends where you wear them and with what you wear them.. for prom i wore my moms pear necklace but its really cute because its not pears all the way. it has one in the middle and some nice gold design for the chain. just make sure you don’t buy huge ones that look kind of tacky
PEARLS ARE PERFECT, especially if she is a farm girl. I would suggest earrings. They dont stand out too much so you can wear them around with any outfit. Get a set with a bunch of different colors for her different outfits. If you get her a necklace or bracelet then she can only wear them when she goes to church and stuff. Plus, they aren’t for old people. That’s a lie. Me and My friends have tons of pearls. They are lots cheaper than diamonds but just as pretty and romantic.
I am young and I adore pearls. Although a lot of girls don’t find it to youthful and cute. I do recommend looking into diamonds or even false diamonds. All girls love those, and they can be dressed up with anything! False diamonds look exactly like the real thing for cheaper, if price is a problem. Good luck, your girlfriend will love anything you give her. Your very gentlemen like to do such a nice thing for her. I am glad my fiance is also like this. Anything from the heart is going to make her happy. Even if it is just a card with a love note. Good luck.

i would say most women under 30 wouldn’t prefer pearls.
but it’s all up to taste, some women like them, some don’t.
if you think she’ll like them then get them,
if you’re completely unsure then go with something else a little cheaper.
chocolates, roses, and a stuffed animal are all sweet things she’ll love.

Everyone has a different opinion on this. Personally I hate them. I think they are really old fashioned and have never liked them. My grandmother, great grandmother and aunts all wore these with twin sets (cardigans and sweater to match) For me they are for old people and I am not a young person. I find them the most boring piece of jewelry, but that is my opinion.
For my 21st I asked my Grandma for a short string of pearls, she was surprised I wanted one (I think she probably thought that I thought they were for old people too). I think pearls are just so classic, very few things make me feel the way I do when I wear them. The only thing I would suggest is don’t get a bracelet too, just necklace and very simple earrings, you can have too much of a good thing you know.
woww. she is one lucky girl! i love pearls. they are timeless and classic and something she will keep and wear throughout her whole life. I disagree with the first poster who said get chunky pearls. Id stay away from buying her that because they are too trendy. if you are going to spend the money, you might as well get something classy so she will wear them forever. Im sure whatever you get her, she will love it. it is the thought that counts.
i am surprised so many girls said they like them. im 23 and i hate them. BUT they have black pearls which i freakin love. you should look into those, they make stuff that has a mixture of some white pearls and some black pearls those look awesome. my boyfriend got my a ring for christmas that is white diamonds mixed with black diamonds and all my friends LOVE it because they have never seen black diamonds before so its different from the standard…
