Christmas present for girlfriend – jewelry?

I've been dating my girlfriend for about 6 months I already a couple gifts picked out.

I think I've gotten it narrowed down to earrings but I don't know what would be appropiate at this stage. Garnet is her birthstone, that might be my safest bet but not original enough because I think she has enough garnet jewerly. Her favorite color is green but I don't know if she likes emeralds that might be to risky. Diamonds might be to much and I only want to spend around 200 which would be about 1/8thct? Pearls, are those for old ladies? We are in our early 20's. Platinum.. too bland? Do people inscribe earrings?

Sorry if this has been posted up already, I am asking more specific questions then I saw in the other posts.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Try some other gems such as Topaz. There are many colors. It is a beautiful stone.

why not play it safe a get her a bracelet with her name engraved on it, and maybe something engraved on the back, like merry Christmas by the way a gold one would be really nice.

Emeralds are classic gems and she likes green. I’d
say get emeralds they’ll increase in value over time.
Take the risk, you may be able to return them so check beforehand.

I’d say do what your best thought is. She will know that you thought of her right? Pearls… well yes they are for old ladies. Diamonds, save them until you(if you do) get married. Emralds, they are nice. If your just a man… do what you want and im sure she will appreciate you

Pearls aren’t for old ladies – they are very popular for girls in their 20s and 30s. And they’re a good gift because they won’t go out of style. If you think white pearls are too old looking, you can get black pearls or pink pearls. Also, if you buy pearls instead of a gemstone, you avoid any associations with engagement rings, etc.

what about a necklace with a heart shape pendent.
