What is this type of earring called and where can I buy it?

A.S. asked:

My aunt would like earrings that look like this for Christmas, but I have no idea where to buy them or what their technical name is so I can search for them. Does anyone know?

    try swarofski (spelling?)
my aunt has something similar and it was from there, really good quality and very shiny.. lol

That style of earring goes by some different names like ear threads, threaders, threader earrings, etc. Instead of having a regular hard post or backing, they have a pointed end that threads through the piercing hole.

The bead hanging below it is not Swarovski. Swarovski is a brand name crystal that has more facets. The bead in the picture looks like fire polished glass with an aurora borealis finish. The aurora borealis finish is what gives it that rainbow glow.

If you want to buy those kind of earrings, just do a Google search for ear threads or if you like that bead, try ear threads with crystals.
