Then something about why it was appreciated e.g. i didn't have a nice set of wine glasses; i was thinking of buying that cd; that's one of my favourite movies; the earrings will match well with a new dress i just bought, etc etc -- this lets the person know you appreciated the thought they put in cos you show you've thought of how you'll use the gift. as for an ending it depends on how close you feel to her.
