So we are 16, and this is our first Christmas together. I'm a terrible shopper, but I've been browsing the internet trying to find something. Naturally I eventually thought of jewelry. We were both born in July, so I was thinking like a ruby pendant might be nice. It seems to me that a birthstone would be more of a birthday gift, but then I figured I could get her earrings to match on her birthday. So, a few questions:
1. Would a birthstone pendant be a good idea from a Christmas gift (coupled with a few other smaller things)?
2. We've only been going out for almost two months and we're only 16. Would her parents freak out if they saw me getting her a medium quality ruby pendant?
Any help is, as always, appreciated. Merry Christmas!

Get her a pearl necklace. As a matter-of-fact, give her two or three. She’ll love it.

there’s also a cheaper version: =&attrvalue=&CMID=56856%7c56871&Fltr=&Srt=&QL=F&IND=9&cmVirtualCat=&CmCatId=56856|56871|58979

Well, I have to admit the entire birthstone pendant is a VERY good gift idea. Honestly, if you give it to her for christmas or for her birthday, either way she will be extremely happy with what you got her because a birthstone has more meaning to it. Things with more meaning behind it are tend to be more special. So when you give it to her, you can’t go wrong because either way it just makes a great gift. However, giving it to her on her birthday might be better and make more sense.
A medium quality gift isn’t a problem. It shows you have more class and you’re not to cheap. Yet, since its medium, you aren’t showing off to much. So I think it should be fine with her parents.
As some suggestions, you can get her perfume, pearl earrings, a purse, a bracelet, or theres this ring. Its a Irish Claddagh Ring that has a lot of meaning behind it. You can find it online. The heart symbolizes love, crown symbolizes loyalty, the hands symbolize friendship. Wear it with the hear pointing towards you it means you’re taken. If the heart is pointing away it means you’re single.
