how do i clean sapphires and rubies that came from a mine.I already washed them and used o toothbrush?

and i do have some in a tumbler, is there something i can soak them in ??? let me know because im pretty lost

It really depends on what needs to be washed from them. If it is calcium then muriatic acid (for cleaning pools) will remove it. If it is iron then oxalic acid will remove it. A little description of the nature of the problem goes a long way towards the proper solution.
