I did nothing wrong really.
I work at a restaurant and we got really busy with only 3 servers on the floor. Everyone of the servers kinda of started bitching at me. I helped them out by getting drink orders and then cleaning tables. Also helped getting to go orders . I asked my manager why he cut so many of the servers then he responded it was not suppose to be like this. Afterward after doing all my side work I left ( except I just realized I forgot to do the carpets )I asked my manager when I could figure out when my next shift is. He told me call tomorrow and see what shifts I I work.I am just worried I am going to call in tomorrow and they are going to tell me I am not needed anymore because I did not do well hostessing tonight. Even though I am dedicated worked and show up on time for my shifts

If you normally do a good job and this was just a crazy night that doesn’t happen very often, I wouldn’t worry too much. And maybe you should show up before they open to offer to do the carpets, since you realized you didn’t have time to do so the previous night. Might be worth a few brownie points. Good luck.

You know better that any of us. Demeanor counts when you are serving. You represent the business, not yourself. If you’re frowning while serving, the business is frowning. If you’re dancing on your fingertips and smiling in spite of the load , then the business shines. You need to talk to your boss about the extra load. It might get worse during the hollidays and having more workers might be more expensive for the restaurant, but customers remember. The comments they make count- and the tips count. If they are unhappy one time, they might never come back , and they might blab about it on “yelp.com”, or “chowhound.com”.

For most managers they would forgive you and it would be fine however if this manager is really mean then kind of like the other person said you should come in very early in the morning (assuming you have keys, if you don’t then I will give you a solution later) and clean all the carpets and polish the tables etc then he will be sure to keep you. If you don’t have keys then be really nice to the manager and give him a Christmas present (a nice one) and stay after hours to do lots of work. Also remember to give him the present as soon as he comes in so if he was going to fire you he would be distracted by the present and then might forgive you.
GOOD LUCK

That’s all you did was forget to do the carpets?? I highly doubt you will get fired for that. No disciplinary action is necessary in this case unless of course you often forget to do them.
The servers weren’t bitching to you as a personal attack. Its cause they were busy and stressed and you were there in the line of fire so to speak.

Obviously yes. It does matter if you have a pair of boobs. If you are a chick and are good-looking enough, you can likely lie your way through your job to keep it. Try offering the manager sexual acts that you will never fullfill and you can sit around all day and text on your IPhone without much worry

This all depends. It depends on the strictness of your manager and what you did wrong. Most places like restaurants and supermarkets give you three chances. Unless if you’re caught stealing, you get another chance. The restaurants near me, don’t care about anything. So I say, don’t worry.
I can’t eat at a restaurant without getting the wrong dish or getting ignored by the waitress. Restaurants always seem to hire less qualified people. Im a college dude, and couldn’t get a job for anything at any restaurant. During my first semester in college, I applied to work for the Red Lobster near me. After I applied, I called the hiring manager. Needless to say she rejected me, and told me how she interviewed/hired a high school drop-out over me.
Most restaurant just don’t care, this is why the customers get treated like garbage. Don’t worry about it. You could ask for advice from managment.

It doesn’t matter how you justify it. If you don’t do your job well, or don’t do a good job at your job, it most certainly is grounds for being fired. That doesn’t necessarily mean you will get fired though. If you didn’t think so yourself, you wouldn’t feel the need to ask the question.
