If you have a special lady in your life and are wondering what would make a good birthday gift, you should consider getting her a pair of ruby earrings. The earrings reflect the love you have for her and really convey the message of how much you care. Any woman would love to receive a pair of elegant earrings with rubies in them. You can further enhance her gift by taking her out to dinner so she can show off her new earrings.

The nice part about choosing earrings is that they come in so many different styles and designs. You can find earrings for people who have pierced ears as well as for those who do not. You can also find them with different types of materials used in the design such as silver, gold or platinum. You can also choose from earring styles that are small and delicate or long and elegant. You can also have them accented with other types of gemstones besides the ruby.

A pair of ruby earrings also makes a great Valentine's Day gift. Red has always been the symbol of love and the ruby is the perfect reflection of that symbol. You can even find little heart style earrings that have ruby stones set inside them. You can also find accessory pieces of jewelry to coordinate with the style of earrings you choose. Often you will find earring and necklace sets together that work well as a gift for that special someone in your life.

By: Moataz Kadada

About the Author:

Silver earrings were adorned on earlobes as far back as five thousand years ago. Looped silver earrings were fairly common then and this style was later fashioned with gemstones like ruby and sapphire by the Greeks. In fact in the 200 AD Greek era, silver earring was of a high-fashion distinction only privileged women wore to esteemed parties. Time and advancements lead to the development of the silver earring's different designs and more malleable materials. Today, wearing silver earrings is not limited to high-fashion. Some wear it as an everyday adornment and even at sports events. Also, it is not only traditional to women and young girls. Silver earrings have become an acceptable male fashion statement.

Even if a silver earring is less valuable than a classic gold earring or any other jewelry piece, proper care is still needed as this is a piece of investment that should last many years.

There are plenty of ways to clean silver earrings. The first thing to remember is to ask the sales clerk from the store where you bought the jewelry. They may have a special solution prepared and sold just for the particular silver earrings you are purchasing. If there are none, then it is safe to use only mild soap and water to clean your silver earrings. Pat the jewelry using a soft cloth, to remove any residue and bring back the shimmer. Paper towels may scratch it, so be careful with what you use on your earrings. Air and sunlight may tarnish silver, so store your silver earrings wrapped in a soft cloth and sealed in a tarnish-free bag. It should be placed somewhere cool and dry. Do take note that chlorine and other chemicals can change the condition of your silver earrings, so keep them away from those.

Undoubtedly, silver can enhance any style or event.

By: Dr. Mark Clayson

About the Author:

Diamond earrings, emerald rings, ruby bracelets, sapphire pendants; no doubt about it everybody loves beautiful gem stone jewelry. Gemstones are quite literally hard as rock, buy they can be damaged from careless handling and negligence. Here are some tips for keeping your gems and jewelry looking fabulous for years to come.

1.	Remember, even the hardest gemstone variety can be vulnerable to breakage if it has inclusions that weaken the crystal structure. Exercise common sense: if you have a ring set with a softer gem variety or an included stone, take it off before strenuous exercise. Even the hardest gem of them all, diamond, can shatter in two with a single well-placed blow. Never remove rings by pulling on the stone: that habit may result in a loose, then lost, gem.

2.	Most importantly, store each piece of gemstone jewelry separately so that harder stones don't scratch softer ones. Almost every gemstone is much harder than the metal it is set in. Gems can scratch the finish on your gold, silver or platinum if you throw your jewelry in a heap in a drawer or jewelry box.

3.	Rings in particular tend to collect dust and soap behind the gem, particularly if you wear them all the time. You need to clean them regularly to let the light in so your gems can shine. To clean transparent crystalline gemstones, simply soak them in water with a touch of gentle dish soap. Use a bowl of water rather than the sink to eliminate the risk of anything going down the drain. If necessary, use a soft toothbrush to scrub behind the stone. Rinse the soap off and pat dry with a lint-free cloth (you want to make sure threads won't catch on the prongs) For diamond, ruby or sapphire, a touch of ammonia in the rinse water won't hurt a bit and can add extra sparkle (for platinum and gold only, not silver!). Think twice before putting gems in an ultrasonic cleaner. Diamonds and rubies and sapphires will be fine but many other gems many not be, in particular emerald, opal, pearls, peridot: when in doubt, leave it out.

4.	Organic gems like pearls, coral, and amber should only be wiped clean with moist cloth. Due to their organic nature, these gems are both soft and porous. Be careful about chemicals in hairspray, cosmetics, or perfume: they can, over time, damage pearls in particular. Opals also require special care. Never use an ultrasonic, never use ammonia, and avoid heat and strong light.

5.	Opaque gemstones like lapis lazuli, turquoise, malachite, require special care because they are rocks, not crystals of a single mineral like transparent gems. There gem materials should just be wiped clean gently with a moist cloth. These gemstones can be porous and may absorb chemicals, even soap, and they may build up inside the stone and discolor it. Never use and ultrasonic cleaner and never use ammonia or any chemical solution.

A little care and common sense can add life, luster and longevity to your precious jewelry and gems. Protect your investment by following the above guidelines.

By: Sam Serio

About the Author:

A lot more females round the nation are choosing anti piercing their ears. They have spotted that this need not something that they must do in order to wear earrings to compliment their wardrobes. Clip on earrings are back in style.

Lots of girls are uneasy with the notion of piercing there ears. Many may be scared, whilst other people are inflexible in their attitudes that they were not made with additional holes in them so why do it. Whatever the motive is, they are not having it done.

It is then that clip on earrings find their use. They can be the perfect enhancement to an outfit that any lady is wearing. This was the only manner of earring that was around decades ago. It is just one further portion of the retro fad that is emerging back into the scene.

Creators of earrings are being asked to have clip on earrings made obtainable for the clientele that would like to put on their jewellery, but do not desire to be required to get pierced ears so they are able. These designers realize the value of what the clients thoughts are and are adhering to this trend. This is clear in the growing amounts of styles and varieties that clip on earrings are accessible in.

There are no actual risks that are associated with clip on earrings either. Ear infections that are habitually something that happens to those with pierced ears are not a risk as there has been zero done to the ear in any way at all. Being able to circumvent this sort of condition is a major incentive for girls to stay away from piercing their ears.

The method that clip on earrings are made is in a mode that allows the earring to kindly connect to the ear. There is not anything that has to go through the earlobe in any way. This as well can inhibit the ear-lobe from being expanded due to earrings that are large in weight.

One more factor that should be discussed is that there is never a healing period that has to be endured. A girl can choose a pair of clip on earrings and change her mind several times without stressing. If a person gets their ears pierced they have to wait for the ears to heal before they can wear different earrings. They too need to abide by a cleaning and treatment practice for the ears in order to reduce the risk of getting infections.

Catch some time to look around the web at some of the lovely clip on earrings that are available. You will be shocked by the assortment of clip on earrings that you find obtainable currently.

By: Richard J Hope

About the Author:

Always on the lookout for unusual jewelry items, I recently came across a company called Gemvara. They're not a discount gemstone outlet that retails the same things available at every other online shop, but a fine gem and jewelry dealer that specializes in unique creations by designers with distinction, some well known, others new to the designing world. One featured designer at Gemvara is Ji Hwang, a talented jewelry artists, trained in New York at the prestigious Parsons School of Design, who creates delicate silver ruby earrings that are anything but ordinary. Her influences are immediately evident, the graceful fluidity of the silver lines, inspired by nature's curves, teardrops, flowers and vine-like trellises, imaginatively translated into clean crisp shapes that somewhat evoke the simplicity of a stroke of calligraphy with a subtle hint of rich red splendor - a ruby gemstone.

Ji Hwang Ruby Jewelry Price

Another remarkable aspect of the Ji Hwang jewelry creations is the price. While many rather unoriginal creations that are mass-produced, and contain a genuine gemstone, may cost $250 to over $500, the uniquely crafted pieces offered by Huang are retailing at just over $200, with the most intricate designs for $300 and $400. Why buy something unoriginal when you can have a designer item for a similar price?

Jeet Palavwala Silver Ruby Earrings and Antique Style Rings

Also at Gemvara are other designer creations that utilize rubies as focal points or accents within silver settings. Nick Blum, Tony Rodrigues, as well as Studio 228 and Carl Ansley, to name a few of the artist/designers, are featured in the collections. There is also a series of Gemvara Essentials, with prices from very affordable to less affordable but surprisingly unique. Another jeweler who is featured is Jeet Palavwala. What's so unusual about the silver earrings with rubies that he designs? It's not easy to describe because Jeet's sophisticated jewelry is dimensional, more like a sculpture than a painting, but with rich Indian inspiration and yet boldly reflecting the technical elements of modern geometric proportions. Jeet Palavwala's love for jewelry and precious gems is not surprising since he is from Surat, India, one of the renowned places where diamonds are shaped and polished to perfection. And it's not surprising that technology influenced his designs as well, since Jeet began designing the machines that create the jewelry prior to crafting the precious items himself.

It was apparently a natural transition, evident in pieces like the ruby hoop earrings with almost two carats of rubies set in polished silver with a series of delicate prongs. Although $1,600 may sound like a high price to pay for a pair of silver hoops, consider that they are embellished with 1.89 carats of genuine ruby gems, and crafted by designer hands. By the way, if you're looking for antique ruby rings, I suggest having a look at the Jeet Palavwala ruby ring collection - not at all your average designs and not exactly new looking. While they may not be technically antiques, they do have an air of antique, perhaps from an ancient Indian influence, that make his ring creations even better than the earrings. He also designs in platinum for those who would prefer to buy investment quality jewelry that starts at around $2,500.

By: Nena Argent

About the Author:

I got 2 Ruby Barbs just this morning from a garden centre that specialize is fish. The are both very healthy and look like a ruby garp should. I took them home, placed the bag in the tank, and then released them into the water. I have a 2 or 3 Gallon Tank (I'm not sure) with a Golden Sucking Loach and a gold fish, and of course the 2 new Ruby Barbs. I have a small ornament bridge and an ormament of a walrus. I have 1 plastic plant and a live plant. I have a thick layer of gravel at the bottom and the tank is a bit dirty because i cant clean it out with my sucking loach. I also have a filter. Anyway, I got a male and a female and they are called John and Nettie. I am wondering if Nettie is pregnent. She and John are constantly round the live plant and they are always beside each other. Nettie has a greyish area on her stumoch close to her tail. Is she pregnent, is she is, is her habitat suitable for her and if you can some tips for me? I have never bred fish in my life. I dont mind getting a new tank or anything, anything to keep her healthy, and I am 13 by the way. I need help, thanks in advance

By: Evie, ANIMAL LOVER!!!!!

About the Author:

I currently work at a "mom and pop" diner. I love my customers, but the business itself is run very poorly. My boss (who is my aunt) doesn't know how to delegate tasks well. I do ALOT of work (everything from making the food, to cleaning up, to waiting on tables, to running the cash register...you name it, I do it!) I really do love working there..but can't stand the disorganization! I am 18, and am thinking about going into food service, but I have never had a "real job" (only worked for family). There is a Ruby tuesday's restaurant up the street, and I am thinking about applying there. Do you think it would be a good idea? Is it a bad place to work? Do you think I would have a really hard time working there? Like I said..I have never had any other job, except for what I'm doing now. I really love my costomers and talking with people, and just keeping myself busy.

Any advice for Ruby Tuesday's? Would waitressing there be harder than what I'm doing now?Do you think I could hand it?

By: Olalalala

About the Author:
